these avocations with my artist husband, Craig Masten .  We are both primarily landscape painters working in oils ,watercolors, and other

As a native Rhode Islander, I grew up exploring many of the scenic locations we now paint.  Being sentimental,  I try to preserve memories
of these places before time and change erode them.  I prefer to work with watercolors outsidewhen weather permits. This allows me to
quickly capture the light and mood of the landscape. Then I finish work  indoors using reference photographs I’ve taken.  I usually do oil
painting inside in the studio during the winter.   In all my artwork,  I always use my own photos. This not only gives me a personal point of
view, it’s a wonderful way to relive travels and experiences.
My paintings are regularly on exhibit at Spring Bull Gallery, and can also be seen at the studio I share with Craig  at  the Deacon Taylor
House, part of  the Providence Art Club.  Our studio is open on Providence Gallery Nights (third Thursday of each month from March to
November), by appointment, or whenever we are there working.
